Nazan Gurbuz has been an exceptional leader in the international aviation community. As Chairman of the SAE International S-18 Airplane Safety Committee, I have worked with Nazan for many years and have benefited greatly from her insight into how to address many complex issues involving safety assessment of airplanes. She has brought to bear her extensive background in system development and certification to help us solve many difficult problems in developing SAE S18 international standards, including ARP4754A for aircraft/system development and ARP4761A for safety assessment.
