Upon completion of this course, you should have a firm understanding of the system safety related certification requirements, particularly FAA 14 CFR 25.1301 and 25.1309 (proper functioning of equipment installed on aircraft, and aircraft/system level risk management, respectively.) We will discuss the certification authorities’ expectations of applicant’s system safety process, and the roles of industry standards such as SAE ARP4754B and ARP4761A in showing compliance. Regulatory advisory materials, such as AC 25-19A Certification Maintenance Requirements, will also be covered.
